Burmese-Americans Demand End to China's Support for Military Junta in Myanmar

On Friday, over 50 Burmese-Americans gathered outside the Chinese embassy in Washington to protest China’s interference in Myanmar. The protesters demanded that China stop supporting the military junta that seized power in Myanmar in a February 2021 coup.

China's Support for Myanmar's Military Junta

China is one of the few countries that has maintained diplomatic relations with Myanmar's military junta. China has also provided economic and political support to the junta, which has been accused of committing human rights abuses against its own people.
